About
What DinarView is
A live view of what the dinar is worth in Iraq: the open-market rate from named exchange offices, the Central Bank’s official rate, gold by the mithqal, and the charts behind all of them — in five languages.
What we publish
One national dinar rate collected through the trading day, the buy and sell read from exchange-office boards in Erbil and Baghdad, the official rate, twenty currencies against the dinar, gold and silver, and the main crypto coins. Every figure carries its source and the time it was taken.
What we are not
DinarView is not an exchange office, a bank or a broker. We do not buy, sell, transfer or hold money, and we do not give investment advice. The rate an office gives you is the rate that applies to your transaction.
Who is behind it
DinarView is built and run by the Kurdcoin team in Erbil. It began in 2022 as a dollar–dinar converter and now reads the office boards directly. Write to us at team@dinarview.com.
Questions people ask
Where do the rates come from?
The headline dinar rate is DinarView’s own collection through the day. Buy and sell are read every ten minutes from the public boards of named exchange offices in Erbil and Baghdad. The official rate is the Central Bank of Iraq’s table. Other currencies, gold and crypto come from CoinMarketCap and a world spot feed, hourly.
Why is the official rate so different from the market rate?
The Central Bank sells dollars to licensed banks at a fixed rate for approved transactions. Everyone else buys dollars on the open market, where supply is what reaches the exchange offices that week. The gap between the two is the number most people actually feel.
Which rate should I use?
The market rate if you are exchanging cash, pricing a sale or working out what a salary is worth. The official rate only if your money genuinely moves through the official channel — a bank transfer, customs, official paperwork.
How often do the numbers update?
Office boards every ten minutes, Saturday to Thursday, through trading hours; once an hour outside them; once at noon on Friday, the market holiday. Currencies and gold hourly. Every figure shows the time of its last reading.
Can I list my exchange office?
Yes, free of charge. Send the office name, city and a mobile number from the offices page. If you publish a public rate board, tell us its address and your quotes will appear on your card with their time.
Is there an app?
Not at the moment. The earlier apps were withdrawn from the stores and a new one is being built. The site works on any phone, and the morning rate message by email or SMS covers the daily number in the meantime.

Terms of use
The rates on DinarView are published for information. They are collected from third-party boards and feeds, can be delayed or wrong, and are not an offer to buy or sell anything. Use them to plan; confirm the actual rate with the office or bank before you transact. DinarView accepts no liability for decisions taken on these figures. Reusing the data on another site or product requires our written permission.
Privacy
We keep the email address or mobile number you give us for rate messages, and the details you send when listing an office, and nothing else about you. We do not sell or share them. Ask at team@dinarview.com and we delete them the same day. Anonymous usage statistics help us see which pages matter; they carry no name.
